Moein Mosleh

My name is Moein Mosleh and I am an assistant professor in the Department of Physics and the Director of Biruni Observatory of Shiraz University.
My research is centered on the question of how galaxy properties evolve with time. In particular, it focuses on assessing how structural properties such as sizes and surface brightness/mass profiles of galaxies and physical properties such as stellar masses and star-formation rates change with time. With the aid of new near-IR instruments, the detection and characterization of galaxies at the peak of star-formation activity (z ~ 2) or even higher out to z ~ 8 has become possible. Therefore studying galaxy properties at different epochs could place important constraints on the underlying processes on galaxy assembly (e.g, accretion of gas onto galaxies or minor/major mergers), feedback effects or reionization.
